My submission for the Swiss Art Awards 2023. A model of the studio building at Zollikerstrasse 249, created from Memory. The building housed the studios of some twenty artists, dancers, and architects, as well as art spaces. In the first few years after the pandemic, many exhibitions and parties took place in the building, which was soon to be demolished. My studio was on the second floor, directly above Lorenzo’s suns.works and next to the studios of Paula Herrmann, Benedikt Bock, and Arnaud Wohlhauser. On the floor above, Dominic Michel, Brigham Baker, Gritli Faulhaber, and Bernhard Hegglin worked, to name just a few. In the basement, Priya had a small showroom for Damien & The Love Guru next to the entrance to the civil defense bunker. I placed the model on its feet, as if wishing that this time the building would escape demolition instead of the artists. That the social fabric would be preserved from destruction along with the building.
